""Catalogue" is a 76 page survey of Melanie Counsell's major projects, from the artist's earliest installation at the Slade School of Fine Art, London, 1988, to her latest project, the bookwork "Annette", 1998."--Caja.

""Annette" is composed of 264 pages of black and white images taken from Super 8 films. Printed on wafer-thin paper which allows the photographs to show-through, the flood of images overlaps and repeats, sometimes evolving in succession, at other times jumping between works, objects and places. Similar to a fragmented film, the work is a passage of time, memory and forgetting. In its conception, materials and physicality Annette's presence as an object is as important as its function as a source of information. Bound without covers, the book is particularly fragile and is protected by a purpose-made polystyrene container"--Caja.
